Motor
Vehicle Model
Purpose
The Motor Vehicle Emissions Estimates Model (MoVEM) is used to compute
emissions estimates from on-road mobile sources. MoVEM computes emissions
estimates for total organic gas (TOG), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and carbon
monoxide (CO). MoVEM is a true emissions estimates model. MoVEM reduces
fundamental traffic and emissions data into gridded, hourly emissions estimates.
Main Input
MoVEM has both SAS® and ARC/INFO® programs
for computing gridded, hourly emissions estimates. Tnhe primary inputs
to MoVEM are the followings:
-
Activity data (vehicle miles traveled [VMT] and speeds);
-
Spatial data (network links, outlines of transportation networks, and other
polygon-related data); and
-
Emissions factors (MOBILE).
The primary output of MoVEM is a file of gridded, hourly emissions estimates
of TOG, NOx, and CO which are input to the Speciation Model.
Model Flow Chart
Motor Vehicle Model Flow Chart is a figure which
shows the execution order of each processor and a description of each processor
that is contained in the Motor Vehicle Source Model. Each area separated
by dotted line represents one specific processing module and the name of
each module is shown at the alternative text area down on the bottom of
the page. Simply click any desired area, and it will go to this processing
module page which includes a detailed description of each data set and
processor. Users should print this flow chart in Landscape
for the purpose of their own reference.
