EMS-95 Area Source ModelSpeciation Model 

Purpose

The Speciation Model speciates the emissions estimates that are prepared by the emissions estimation models (e.g. Point Source Model, MoVEM), and it also reformats the speciated emissions estimates for input to the air quality model.

Main Input

The Speciation Model is built primarily in SAS®; however, some FORTRAN programs are utilized by the Speciation Model. The Speciation does not utilize ARC/INFO®.

Emissions estimates that are generated by the EMS-95 emissions estimation models are the primary input to the Speciation Model. ASCII files which are suitable for use by the selected air quality model are the primary output of the Speciation Model.

Model Flow Charts

Speciation Initiation Flow Chart and Speciation Modeling Day Flow Chart are figures which show the execution order of each processor and a description of each processor that is contained in the Speciation Model. Users should print this flow chart in Landscape, if they want to use for further reference.
