Got most all of the problems with installation figured out. Some of these problems should also be fixed on the website. Here goes a list of all the little quirks and solutions :
1) When Win-unzipping the EMS_RAW1, EMS_RAW2, EMS_RAW3, and UNIX_SYS files,
the extension needs to be changed from .t to .tar You then will get the option
to uncompress into a temporary folder and get separate files created from the
one compressed tar.
2) When Win-unzipping cat_expt.Z, you need to change the name of this file using
the winzip32 program to lib_ems_cat.export. You need to do the same thing with
ems_expt.Z where it gets re-named as lib_ems.export during the unzipping. You
can't change it before you start the dos_in program because winzip32 won't recognize
the .export extension as a zip file. You need to change it while running the
winzip32 program.
3) The DOS installation program (dos_in.bat) needs to be changed in the "Installing
run_desc directories" section (Page 3) to change the name of the program
run from %INSTALL_HOME\make_dos_run to %INSTALL_HOME\mkdosrun as mkdosrun is
the name of the program provided. (Or else you can change the name of the mkdosrun
program to make_dos_run before running dos_in.bat.)
The only error that I get with the installation program is that it doesn't find
the %EMS%\mvcyid.%SAS_EXTENSION% file. This file, however, is in the $EMS_DATA
directory (aka EMS_CAT directory) so is present. IS this okay for this file
to be there and not in $EMS? I hope this list helps the next person and thanks
mucho for your help! Take it very easy and stay warm!!! Good luck and best wishes
as always! Ray

ray, Try renaming them cat_expt.Z and try to uncompress it. Then make sure
that the sas program programs\D_cimpt.sas is pointed to the uncompressed
file after uncompressing it, make sure it comes out named
lib_ems_cat.export (or lib_ems.export for the EMS one) if the names are not
exactly what they are in d_cimpt.sas it will not work.
Let me know how it goes?
