Weekly Update December 20th, 2001
Hi All,
I have a few pieces of information for you. I am going to try and get these information emails out once a week. If you want to add a name to this email or take your name off, email me.
I will be having 2 conference calls, on January 9th and January 16th. The first will discuss everything that is new in EMS-2001 and how to run the model for the eastern Unified Grid PM/Haze. This includes.
January 9th What's new in EMS-2001
Running Subgrid.sas and building surrogates for "new" grids
Spatial processing for point sources.
Speciation changes for PM
Simple Area based MV processing.
Running uni_point.mej and uni_area.mej
QA tools and neat little tricks.
January 16th - Running Biome.
Components of the model
Running the model
Setting up and running sensitivity runs
Biogenics clearinghouse.
Both calls will be at 1:00 to 3:30 CENTRAL.
If your interested email me. I have to reserve the right number of lines and
email you an Acrobat presentation.
I am also planning on having "Introduction to EMS-2001" training in
Mid March, It is my standard EMS training that most of you
have already had. If your interested let me know. Space will be limited to 8.
I have also noticed a couple of things thanks to Eric in New York.
1. I used Linux SAS to create the Cport files. they are not backwards compatible to SAS 6.12. I'm going to work on that. If anyone is still running Solaris 6.12 let me know. I'll get you the right CPORT files.
2. I have attached the new solaris script. It solves the Compress naming problem on solaris. If your installing on solaris or any non linux(DEC, SGI) machine use this script
3. There are no foundation files for MOVEM. We are running Mobile from the NEI through the area source model right now. Holding out for Mobile6!! If anyone is interested in running the old MV stuff let me know. I'm waiting for the new Mobile6 stuff since everything, and I mean everything is going to change under Mobile6.

Hi Mark,
I think we got the problem straightened out here with the untaring and
uncompressing. We ended up trying an older version of "tar" and it
worked
no problem. (Winston is the man!)
Anyway, I just wanted to make sure I have everything in the
$EMS_RAW directory. Here is what was extracted from the 3 ems_raw?.Z
files...
biome3/common with 30 files
canada/common with 21 files
met/common with 3 files
net96_v4 with 7 files (just point and area ff's aren't there any mobile ff's???)
Is this everything?
Thanks,
Eric
