Weekly Update January 8th, 2002
Hi EMS-2001 Fan,
Just a few new things this week.
Tomorrow we will be having a Conference call at 1:00 Central to discuss changes from EMS-95 to EMS-2001. I will be sending out a document outlining the discussion later today to those who have replied that they are attending. It is the only way to get the call in number since I have a limited number of lines(15). If you have not replied please send me an email before 10:00 AM central tomorrow to get the handout and the call in number.
To help yourself along if you are already familiar with EMS-95 Look at the following programs, They are what I used to run the model for the Eastern Unified Grid. They are very good road maps.
For Point
$EMS_BIN/uni_point_net4.mej
For Area
$EMS_BIN/uni_area.mej
$EMS_BIN/uni_area_nonroad.mej
For Biogenics
$EMS_BIN/uni_bio.bat
For MotorVehicles.
This is a very crude run where MV emissions are run as Area sources. We're waiting
until Mobile6 to add any improvements to the
MOVEM model.
$EMS_BIN/uni_area_nei4mv.bat
Next Week Wednesday(1/16/2002) we will be having a second conference call to discuss running the BIOME3 Biogenics. We will not only talk about running the model but also some of the data that drives the model . We will also talk about the 11 sensitivity runs LADCO ran and what they say about modeling biogenic emissions.
Several of you have found problems with various files on the EMS-2001 CD. These
appear to be problems with writing the CD's.
If you have problems with any files, I have put the entire contents of the CD
out on the web. I do not want to publicize the location but if you have any
problems just email me and I'll give you the address. The server the data is
on has limits to the amount of downloads so I can't afford to have everybody
downloading all 513 Megs of the install CD. There is also a text version of
the nt_inst.doc file. Some of you were having problems reading the WORD document.
I am also planning on having "Introduction to EMS-2001" training
in Mid March, It is my standard EMS training that most of you
have already had. If your interested let me know. Space will be limited to 8.
I would also like to hear everybody's opinion on EMS Training needs(Advanced
Courses, Specialty Courses, Conference calls on specific issues?)
