Course Description:
Effective Permit Writing (PERM 302) provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to develop clear, enforceable, and technically sound permits. The course focuses on improving writing clarity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening the connection between permit conditions and applicable requirements.
Through real-world examples and interactive exercises, participants will learn how to translate complex regulations into effective permit language that is both precise and defensible.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Apply the fundamental concepts of air permitting to applications
- Explain the function and purpose of each component required in a complete permit application
- Identify the characteristics of an effective permit and explain the process and approaches that can be used to assure an effective permit is produced
- Discuss the applicant’s perspective in complying with the permit
- Produce a permit that is well written, accurate, defendable, enforceable, and understandable
Effective Permit Writing is a specialized training course designed for environmental regulatory professionals to develop clear, enforceable, and technically sound air pollution permit conditions.
