Course Description: PERM 202: Permit Writing Practices and Principles is an intermediate-level training designed for environmental professionals involved in drafting, reviewing, or managing regulatory permits. This course builds practical skills in developing clear, defensible, and enforceable permits that are consistent with regulatory requirements and policy objectives.

Participants will explore best practices for permit structure, language, and documentation, with an emphasis on translating regulatory standards into precise permit conditions. The course also addresses common permit-writing challenges, coordination with technical reviewers, and strategies for ensuring permits are transparent, consistent, and legally sound.

This training is ideal for permit writers, regulators, consultants, and compliance staff seeking to strengthen their technical writing skills and improve permit quality.
