Course Description
The Enforcement of NSR-PSD Requirements Training provides an overview of the New Source Review (NSR) and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) programs under the Clean Air Act, focusing on regulatory requirements, compliance obligations, and enforcement considerations.
Participants will explore key components of NSR and PSD, including applicability determinations, emissions thresholds, permitting requirements, and compliance monitoring. The training will also address common enforcement issues, inspection strategies, and approaches to identifying and addressing potential violations.
Designed for air quality professionals, regulatory staff, inspectors, and industry representatives, this course will help participants strengthen their understanding of NSR-PSD requirements and develop practical knowledge for supporting compliance and effective enforcement.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to explain the enforcement provisions and requirements of the New Source Review (NSR) and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) programs; identify common NSR-PSD violations and compliance issues; describe enforcement tools, procedures, and strategies used to address NSR-PSD violations; evaluate potential enforcement cases and determine appropriate compliance and enforcement responses; and recognize the roles and responsibilities of regulatory agencies in enforcing NSR-PSD requirements.
